The Bildeston Crown is a 15th century, former coaching inn set in the Suffolk village of Bildeston, one of the historic “wool towns” and just six miles from Lavenham. Known for its stylish yet relaxed accommodation, the inn has 12 en suite doubles, each with its own individual character, a 120 seater restaurant, a private meeting room, bar area with beams and open fire and a courtyard and terrace for al fresco dining. Food is an integral part of The Bildeston Crown experience and Chef Chris Lee, who owns the business with his wife Hayley, has an excellent reputation for his signature, innovative style. Quality produce, sourced primarily locally, is used when in season and diners can choose from a range of menus: Classics which features regular favourites, Select which changes with the seasons, a midweek Set lunch offering great value for money and perhaps the ultimate dining experience – Chris Lee’s Tasting Menu.

The Bildeston Kings Head pub is an award winning traditional Grade II listed freehold, freehouse, run by Nigel & Sue, dating from around 1500 and heavily timbered inside with an inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove.

We serve the picturesque village of Bildeston a former “wool town” in the heart of the lovely Suffolk countryside. We pride ourselves on our warm atmosphere and welcome families, walkers, cyclists, and of course our friendly locals. When it’s cold outside, keep warm by the fire while in summer you and the kids will enjoy our outdoor family seating and enclosed play area.

Quench your thirst with one of our own real ales, brewed on site in the old cart lodge at the rear. Otherwise we always have a local guest ale, cider, plus draft and bottled lagers or ciders and our selection of fine wines and soft drinks.

If you are hungry try our varied menu of starters, mains and deserts all freshly homemade with quality ingredients, locally sourced where possible. We are well known for tasty beer-battered fish & chips, delicious boozy beef pie (Suffolk Red Poll beef) and our freshly prepared traditional Sunday roasts. Meals are cooked to order and available to eat-in or take-away.

Traditional 16th century pub, offering Ales, Lagers, Wines, Spirits & a large selection of soft drinks. They also have a fully enclosed garden, Pool table & Dart board. The current building is thought to mainly date from the 18th century.
