The site of the recreation ground was donated to the village by a local land owner in the 1950s It was enhanced by the popular addition of the skate park in August 2013.
Skate park: the concrete park is set in a large grassed area and is suitable for skate boarders, scooter riders, BMXers and in line/aggressive skates.
The design comprises two 6’ quarter pipes, two 4’ quarter pipes, flat bank, driveway, hubba, roller, grind rail and a jump box. There is also a flat area for beginners or young riders. The recreation ground is an open access space and the skate park is therefore free of charge and available to all for appropriate use.
The skate park is an unsupervised facility and a no smoking area. Please note no dogs are allowed on the site.
The Skate Park was created by a joint venture between the Parish Council and the village community. It was made possible by grants from local and county councils, charitable trusts, Bildeston Parish Council, and donations from local businesses.
The recreation ground also comprises a basketball pad and seating and is in an idyllic setting on the outskirts of the village. It provides an ideal large green space for ball games, kite flying, picnics and all outdoor play and is well used by the local community .
Protective clothing must be worn at all times.
