News from King’s Pightle Nature Reserve

During the past year activity in the nature reserve has increased considerably, particularly by our human visitors who have enjoyed the peace and tranquillity as well as the wildlife. A big thank you to the kind people who have donated bird food, this is an ongoing cost but provides our feathered friends with sustenance and helps to interest our young visitors when topping up the feeders. Those of you who have visited will have seen the new bridge, which was a major project last. It is good news from the bird boxes. After inspection of the two owl boxes there was evidence of both being used last year and at least one chic fledged, images of a barn owl feeding a chic was captured on the nature camera. Twenty Six of the smaller nesting boxes had also been used successfully.

Please continue to enjoy this wonderful corner of our village and help us to look after it, if you would like to be added to our volunteer list or donate in any way please contact: The Secretary
