Quiet lanes public meeting
July 12th - 7:00pm
During the public session at the start of the Parish Council meeting.
The Quiet Lanes project promoted by Suffolk County Council requires Bildeston Parish Council to hold a public meeting before it makes a final decision on whether to go ahead with designating Consent Lane and Church Road as Quiet Lanes.
Quiet Lane designation is primarily aimed at visitors to the village, for example, people driving to events at the Sports Field or delivery drivers, rather than Bildeston residents who are familiar with the local lanes.
The Highway Code states that when you see a Quiet Lane sign ‘You should drive slowly and carefully and be prepared to stop to allow people extra time to make space for you to pass them in safety’. For more information see www.quietlanessuffolk.co.uk.
Whether you are for or against Quiet Lanes we need you to tell us so the Parish Council can make an informed final decision. We would particularly like to hear from regular users of Consent Lane and Church Road, even if you have previously expressed your views informally.
If you are reluctant to attend a public meeting, please take a few moments to drop a line to Angela Chapman, Bildeston Parish Clerk.
