Chamberlin Hall
Chamberlin Hall is Bildeston’s community village hall, hosting regular events for the local community.
This large, modern facility offers the perfect space for meetings, community groups, events and weddings—and is available for private hire at very reasonable rates. Classes, societies and events that are open to the public are listed below.

For booking enquiries, complete the online form below. It is always a good idea to check the Chamberlin Hall event calendar to see if your proposed date of hire clashes with a regular event/booking. (Note: the rooms of the events held at the hall are listed within the event details, so if the side-room is booked, you can still hire the main hall and/or balcony room).

We cater for various events and functions. The Hall is available for hire to individuals, Clubs and Companies. The entire facility or smaller rooms are available to suit your requirements. Residents of Bildeston receive a 20% discount on rates of hire (30% discount for wedding hire). To make a booking enquiry, please complete the online form.
Main Hall:
- Morning session, 9:00-13:00: £70 (businesses), £50 (private hire). Bar: additional £25.
- Afternoon session, 13:00-17:00: £70 (businesses), £50 (private hire). Bar: additional £25.
- Hourly rates (only available for day/afternoon hire): £17.50 (businesses), £12.50 (private hire)
- Evening session, 17:00-midnight: Friday or Saturday £150. Includes bar, times subject to staff availability)
- Full day hire: £250. Includes bar, times subject to staff availability.
- Wedding hire: £250. Includes bar, times subject to staff availability.
- Wedding hire (including Friday evening for set-up ahead of Saturday wedding): £300. Includes bar, times subject to staff availability.
Side room:
- Morning session, 9:00-13:00: £50 (businesses), £40 (private hire).
- Afternoon session, 13:00-17:00: £70 (businesses), £50 (private hire).
- Hourly rates (only available for day/afternoon hire): £12.50 (businesses), £10 (private hire)
Balcony room
- Morning session, 9:00-13:00: £25
- Afternoon session, 13:00-17:00: £25
- Evening hire: 17:00-midnight: £25
Note: Main Hall evening hire includes optional side room and bar.
Facilities, layout
Chamberlin Hall’s south elevation overlooks a patio complete with Picnic Benches, BBQ and the six rink county-standard bowls green. There is also an enclosed Adventure Playground within the Hall grounds.
The Hall is well appointed and can cater for functions of all types. It has an On Premise License covering all entertainments and the sale & consumption of alcohol. Please take a tour of the photo gallery on the main page to see images of the hall.

- Main Hall – can cater up to 200 persons (standing room, circa 150 seated)
- Side room – up to 50 persons (standing room, circa 30 seated)
- Balcony room – up to 8 persons (seated)

- Kitchen – fully equipped
- Licensed bar
- Luxury toilets incl. Disabled – Baby Changing.
- Patio area + BBQ + Picnic Benches
- Six Rink County standard bowls green
- Lawn area + Adventure Playground

- All areas double glazed & Air extraction in most areas.
Large reception foyer serves all areas.
Main Hall
Large, spacious, and modern hall with sprung beech floor. (Ideal for dancing). Large stage with two changing rooms incl. Showers and toilets. The adjoining meeting room can be opened into Main Hall by sliding partition.
The Bar and Kitchen have separate serving areas, which open into the Main Hall.
Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped for ‘in house catering’ and food preparation.

- Hot water urn
- Cutlery and Steelite Bianco crockery for 144 persons (Hire charge)
- Dayware crockery for 50 persons

- Ample worktops and food preparation table.
Bar
The fully-stocked bar has very competitive prices and is typically cheaper than public houses, clubs and bars. It is available for any function (subject to availability of volunteers to run it). Prior notice is required. Please ensure that you state any request for a bar in your booking request form.
The Hall has a Full Premise Licence – the hall committee operates the bar and all profits are returned to Hall funds. Our bar manager holds a Personal License and all our friendly staff are experienced. We have a wide selection of wines and we can supply to suit your requirements.
Balcony room
This first-floor room is ideal for meetings and small groups. It is accessed by stairs from the foyer and can be hired for specific purposes, but is not included in hire of the main hall. This part of the Hall is not licensed.
The room contains the sound and stage lighting controls and has a viewing window into the main hall which can be used to project films onto the stage area. The sound & lighting systems are operated via permanent wired links and can be hired with an operator (we do not permit self-control of this equipment).
Side room
The side room can be hired separately or as part of the Main Hall. It is separated from the Main Hall by acoustic sliding partition wall panels. Access is from the Foyer or Main Hall.
Snooker Room
This room features a full-size snooker table.
